TAWAU : Police have arrested three people, including a 15-year-old, in connection with the rape of a teenage girl.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Jasmin Hussin said in her testimony, the teenager said she was raped by her acquaintances.
Of the three suspects, two are adult men aged 29. All three were arrested in the district last night.
"They have been remanded for seven days, starting today until Sept 4," Jasmin said.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code for rape, which provides for 20 years' jail and caning if convicted.
