KUALA LUMPUR: A civil servant and a university student were among 36 people arrested for allegedly being involved in "swinger" activities.
The 36, are believed to be part of a 147,000-member online community called, "Swing That Fun". Most of its members are Malaysians.
The group charged RM388 for those seeking to be members. They would have to pay RM400 to participate in "swinging" sessions or RM350 if they came with a partner.
According to Bernama, the police and the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi), put a stop to their activities in two separate raids earlier this week.
Bukit Aman's CID deputy director (Intelligence/Operations), Deputy Commissioner Fadil Marsus, said the raids were the result of a three-month sting assisted by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
"The website served as a platform for people to make acquaintances, share pornographic content, and facilitate prostitution," he said in a press conference.
"We then detected one group that was organising this (swinging sessions) and were promoting it."
On Sunday night, police raided a condominium in Mont Kiara and arrested 34 people. The group was known as Pet GB (Pet Gang Bang).
Those arrested included 18 local women and 11 local men.
Five foreigners comprising a woman from the Phillippines and four men from France, China, Nigeria and the Czech Republic were also arrested.
All those arrested were aged between 19 and 41.
"Two of those arrested have criminal records for theft, assault and criminal intimidation."
In the second operation on Tuesday afternoon, police raided a condominium in Puchong and arrested two men, a local and a Singaporean.
The duo are believed to be the website's owners and are suspected of organising sex parties.
They are also believed to be owners of the mule accounts used to receive payments from clients.
During the raid, police seized an unspecified amount of cash, a computer, a mobile phone and sex toys.
