NILAI: Police are tracking down two individuals for their alleged involvement in the case of a baby abandoned at a surau in Nilai 3 here last Wednesday.
District police chief Superintendent Abdul Malik Hasim said closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings at the surau showed two people leaving the baby at 7.30pm.
"From the recordings, we identified a man and a woman, believed to be the suspects, leaving the baby.
"However, the recordings do not clearly show the suspects' faces, making it difficult for us to track them down," he said when contacted today.
Abdul Malik added that efforts to identify the suspects are still ongoing.
"Both suspects left the baby before driving away in an unidentified vehicle," he said.
It was reported previously reported that a baby boy, believed to be about two weeks old, was found by members of the public on a sofa in a surau in Nilai 3.
It is understood that the baby, who was wrapped in cloth and placed in a red plastic bag, was in good health and had not sustained any injuries.
