KUANTAN: Twelve types of drugs worth RM535,009 seized across the state between 2011 and this year will be disposed of by Pahang police.
The drugs will be destroyed using an incinerator at a waste management facility in Bukit Pelanduk, Negri Sembilan tomorrow.
Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the 12 types of synthetic and non-synthetic narcotics were seized from 11 districts in Pahang.
"The drugs include 8,465g of heroin, 22,041g of methamphetamine, 1,464g of cannabis, 237g of ketamine, nimetazepam (60.16g), Yaba (149.19g), Ecstasy (56.06g), ketum in liquid form (4,840 litres), ketum leaves (70g) and codeine (310 litres).
"All the court proceedings and appeals for the cases have ended. This is the first time drugs from the state have been destroyed this year," he told reporters at a press conference at the Pahang police contingent headquarters here, today.
Meanwhile, Yahaya said police had not found any fresh evidence or made any arrests in connection with the murder of a housewife who was found strangled in her home on Aug 14.
"We have not established the motive and are looking into all angles. The investigation is still ongoing to determine what happened on the day of the incident," he said.
Yahaya was asked to comment on the progress of the case after police released the victim's four family members on police bail on Aug 28 after they were picked up for questioning.
