KUANTAN: Drugs valued at RM691,708 were seized across Pahang during a three-day special operation codenamed Op Hawk, resulting in the arrest of 323 individuals.
Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said that among those detained, including 16 women aged between 18 and 66, were apprehended for various drug-related offences during the series of raids that concluded yesterday.
"During the operation, the state Narcotics Crime Investigation Department conducted 140 raids and 265 inspections, leading to a total of 323 arrests for 265 drug offences.
"Forty-three suspects were detained for supplying drugs, 83 for possession, and 197 for failing drug tests. Notably, 20 suspects may face charges under Section 39(c) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 as repeat offenders," he said in a statement today.
Yahaya said that various types of drugs, including heroin, syabu, ganja, yaba pills, eramin pills, and ketum water, were seized, along with a car and a motorcycle.
He said the operation targeted drug hotspots in various parts of the state, including Felda schemes, and will be conducted regularly to combat drug-related and illegal activities.
