KINABATANGAN: A 25-year-old fisherman is missing after he was believed to have been attacked by a crocodile near Ladang Tong Hup LP7 here yesterday.
The victim, identified as Brono Kamil Js Nahak was last seen heading to the river at about 12.30pm to retrieve fish from nets he had set.
When he failed to return home by the afternoon, his co-workers initiated a search along the river but only found his motorcycle, clothes, hat, shoes, and a torn fishing net, suggesting a possible crocodile attack.
The Fire and Rescue Department said an alert about was sent out at 5.28am today, and a search and rescue operation led by Ahmad Pramuja Zainadun was mounted.
A team comprising three personnel and one fire and rescue truck is working closely with police to locate Brono.
