Autistic child found safe hours after reported missing in Bentong

BENTONG: A five-year-old boy with autism, who was reported missing at a plantation at Felda Lurah Bilut here yesterday, was reunited with her family several hours after disappearing.

Bentong member of parliament Young Syefura Othman wrote on social media that the boy was found safe by plantation workers today.

Earlier, Syefura took to Facebook to help locate the victim who had been reported missing since yesterday evening by his father.

"His father realised his son was missing after they went out together to the plantation. Policemen along with other agencies and villagers have been searching for the boy since yesterday and operations will resume in the morning today," she wrote.

About 9.15am today, Syefura informed that the boy was found safe by plantation workers and was taken to the nearest health clinic for check-up.

She expressed her gratitude to the police, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Force and villagers who had participated in the search operation.
