KUALA LUMPUR: A viral TikTok video exposing a severely neglected drain in Pasir Gudang has sparked widespread public concern, attracting over a million viewers.
The video, shared by user @_amyika_ shows the dire state of the drain, which is almost completely clogged by vegetation.
The content creator directly challenged local authorities' apparent lack of maintenance, highlighting the infrastructural oversight.
In his caption, he noted: "As a citizen, I feel disappointed to see this, but changes require time. I always support the changes on the journey for a better future."
Netizens responded with sharp criticism, while others praised user @_amyika_ for highlighting the issue and his efforts to clear the drains.
User @khairulfikri2517 provided insights of prolonged disregard, observing, "If they missed out for two to three months, the grass would not be this long. But now it has grown into bushes, which means they never maintain the drain at all."
