Police hunt for suspect in RM3,000 donation box theft

SUBANG JAYA: A suspect is being sought by police after two donation boxes were pried open at An-Nur Mosque, USJ 4 yesterday, resulting in an estimated loss of RM3,000.

District police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said investigations revealed that the theft took place at 11.40am.

The suspect, described as an unidentified male, was wearing a blue shirt, brown trousers, and a red helmet.

He was also seen carrying an orange delivery bag while riding a red Yamaha 135 LC motorcycle.

"The suspect used a metal object to pry open two donation boxes, both intended for mosque development and utility funds," Azlan said.

Azlan added that the boxes, located in the foyer near the entrance, were found damaged after the theft.

The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code.

Azlan urged anyone with information to contact the district police control centre at 03-78627222. He assured that all informants' identities will remain confidential.
