SLIM RIVER: A teacher was charged at the magistrate's court here today with trespassing into her former boyfriend's office last March.
The accused, N. Retha, 41, however pleaded not guilty when the charge was read out before magistrate G. Phulrani Kaur.
According to the charge, the single mother is accused of criminal trespass by entering the office of P. Navaneeth, 35, at a clinic near here at 3pm on March 3.
The charge falls under Section 447 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of six months or a fine of up to RM3,000, or both, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Nor Syahirah Azahar proposed bail of RM4,000 for the accused, with the condition that she not disturb the victim until the case is resolved.
The accused's lawyer, N. Vilassini, requested minimal bail. She said her client, who works as a senior assistant for co-curriculum at a primary school in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, was the sole breadwinner. She added that the accused was supporting two children, aged 14 and 16, as well as her ill father.
The court allowed the accused to be released on bail of RM2,000 with one surety and an additional condition not to disturb the victim until the case concludes.
The court set Oct 18 for mention.
