SLIM RIVER: A woman was killed while four others were injured in a four-vehicle accident at KM363 of the North-South Expressway here early today.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the accident involved a five-tonne lorry, a Nissan Serena, and two motorcycles.
A team from the Slim River Fire and Rescue station, he said, was deployed to the scene after the department received a distress call at 6.16am.
"The accident involved four vehicles, and all the victims were rescued by the public before the arrival of the firemen," he said.
"Seven people were involved in the accident, and the deceased was a passenger in the Nissan Serena.
"The deceased was handed over to the police for further action, and all the injured were taken to Slim River Hospital," he said adding that the operation ended at 7.48am.
