KUALA LUMPUR: Seven people have been questioned over the unauthorised assembly in support of Palestine held outside the United States Embassy here earlier this week.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said based on their investigations, the organisers did not submit any prior notice to the police on the gathering.
"We have completed investigations and will refer the investigation paper to the deputy public prosecutor's office soon.
"We advise those interested in holding assemblies to comply with the Peaceful Assembly Act," he told reporters at the KL police headquarters on Wednesday.
Among the criteria for organising an assembly is getting permission from the owner of the land where the gathering is planned.
It was reported that police launched investigations into an unauthorised assembly in support of Palestine held outside the back entrance of the United States Embassy at Jalan Taman U-Thant on Monday.
The assembly, which took place at 8.10am, involved seven participants who gathered to "express support for Palestine and condemn Israel's actions."
An investigation paper was opened under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
