KUALA LUMPUR: The main suspect in the latest bullying case at Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) will have his statement recorded this afternoon.
City police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said nine people, including the alleged victim, have already had their statements recorded.
Sources said the victim spoke to investigators while being treated in hospital.
Rusdi confirmed that a formal report on the incident had been lodged.
"To date, nine individuals, including the victim, have provided their statements.
"The suspect is expected to be questioned later this afternoon at the Cheras police headquarters," he siad in a brief statement.
It was reported earlier that a first-year student at UPNM suffered fractures to his ribs and spine, injuries reportedly inflicted by a senior student who had stomped on him.
The incident is believed to have taken place on Oct 21, a day before another student at the same university sustained burns allegedly after being pressed with a hot iron by senior students.
