Company director claims trial to using false documents

BUTTERWORTH: A company director was charged at the Sessions Court here today with using false documents as genuine in a report and financial statement of a construction company nine years ago.

Tan Ee Seng, 64, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him by the court interpreter before Judge Zulhazmi Abdullah.

He is alleged to have used the false document as genuine at BM City Realty & Constructions Sdn Bhd on April 10, 2015.

The said document was the Report and Financial Statements dated Dec 31, 2014 for the 2014 annual audit report of the company.

He was charged under Section 471 of the Penal Code for

Section 471 states that whoever fraudulently or dishonestly uses as genuine any document which he/she knows or has reason to believe to be a forged document, shall be punished in the same manner as if he/she had forged such document.

Prosecuting officer Afiqa Liyana Rozman prosecuted while Tan was represented by lawyers from Vilasiny Gan & Co.

Zulhazmi set bail at RM10,000 with one surety and fixed Nov 15 as mention.

"The accused will also have to surrender his passport to the court until the end of the case," he added.
