KUALA LUMPUR: Police have obtained images and CCTV footage of the suspect who recently trespassed on the Kelana Jaya LRT line, causing service disruptions.
City police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said that identifying the suspect was imminent.
"We have the suspect's images and video footage, and we are currently in the process of identifying him. We will release these images soon to aid in the identification," he told reporters today.
Emphasising the strong collaboration between police, Rapid KL, and Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, he said: "They have auxiliary police personnel on duty at various locations and they have helped on multiple occasions in arresting suspects," he said.
The incident occurred on Oct 7, when the suspect trespassed between the Pasar Seni and KL Sentral LRT stations at 7.08pm, climbing a gate to access a staff pathway.
Power was cut temporarily to facilitate a search, but the suspect eluded capture.
Full service resumed at 8.01pm, and a thorough investigation is underway to enhance security measures.
The disruption affected passengers at multiple stations, including Masjid Jamek, Bangsar, KL Sentral, and Kampung Baru.
Rusdi urged anyone with information to come forward and contact the City Police Hotline at 03-2115 9999 or visit the nearest police station.
