DUNGUN: "I no longer have any sons, both of them have died in accidents."
This was how Jamaludin Hussin, 53, expressed his grief over the loss of his son Khairil Anwar, 20, one of three Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Dungun students who died in an accident in Kampung Sura Hujung last night.
Khairil Anwar is Jamaludin's youngest of five children. His eldest son, Muhammad Khairul Izzudin, also lost his life in a road accident in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan, seven years ago.
"My eldest son died on Oct 3, 2017, and now my youngest (Khairil Anwar) on Oct 9 (yesterday).
"I did not expect what had happened to my eldest to 'repeat' to my youngest child… now, both my sons are gone because of accidents in the same month," he said when met at the Hospital Dungun's Forensic Unit here, today.
It was reported that three UiTM Dungun students died, while one was severely injured after being involved in an accident in front of the university last night.
In the 7.20pm incident, the four students on two motorcycles were rammed into by a Honda CRV SUV driven by a woman.
The victims were riding a Yamaha LC 135 and Y15.
The victims were identified as Ku Adib Aizad Ku Azmi, 20, and Khairil Anuar Jamaluddin, 20, who are bachelor of accounts students and Mohd Akhmal Tukirin, 20, who is a hospitality major.
Their friend Mohd Ammar Danish Mohd Rodhuan, 20, who sustained severe injuries is being treated at the Dungun Hospital and will be transfered to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital, Kuala Terengganu for further treatment.
Jamaludin said he received a phone call from a UiTM staff at 9pm before rushing to Dungun, and arrived at 3.30am.
He said the last time he and his wife, Norma Mohammed Nor, 52, met with Khairil Anwar was when they sent him to Dungun to start his new semester.
"We were here on Oct 4 and went back to Ampang on Oct 6. We're really shocked learning this news," he said.
Khairil Anwar's remains is expected to be laid to rest at the Ukay Perdana Islamic Cemetery.
