KUALA LUMPUR: Four students from a tahfiz centre in Datuk Keramat, who were reported missing since last Monday, were found safe last night.
Wangsa Maju police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Lazim Ismail said the four were discovered by the public at 11.58pm yesterday.
"They were found walking around the Kampung Bangi area in Kajang, Selangor.
"All the students were then brought to the Bangi police station by the public," he said in a statement today.
Lazim added that the students were sent for medical check-ups at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).
"Further investigations are being carried out, and the students will be handed over to their respective families.
"The public is advised not to speculate, share, or spread unverified information that could interfere with police investigations," he said.
Meanwhile, the tahfiz centre also confirmed the discovery of the four students, who were reported to have run away from the facility.
"Alhamdulillah, the four students who ran away have been found. Thank you for everyone's prayers and assistance in locating them," the centre said in a Facebook posting.
Previously, it was reported that the four students, aged 10 to 12, from the tahfiz centre in Datuk Keramat had been missing for three days after failing to return to the centre since Monday.
The staff at the centre noticed their absence at 10.30 pm on the day they went missing.
