ALOR STAR: The man, who claimed that his three-acre plot in Kuala Kedah was forcibly seized by a former business partner, has been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
It is understood that the man, Abu Ismail Abu Yaziz, 62, was called in to provide his statement at the state MACC headquarters here earlier today (Nov 4).
However, attempts by the 'New Straits Times' to reach Abu Ismail for comment were unsuccessful.
Recently, the video on Abu Ismail's Tiktok page, featuring a woman claiming to be his daughter, alleging that his land held under a Temporary Occupation Licence, was "seized" by a former business partner through a forged court document, went viral.
She alleged that the partner presented a fake court order to lease the land for RM50 a month, eventually forcing her father out.
In another video, Abu Ismail accused the police of ignoring signs of foul play and "gangsterism".
Yesterday (Nov 3), it was reported that MACC had summoned three individuals for questioning and obtained relevant documents.
The investigation focused on suspected corruption and the use of forged documents in the transfer of land ownership.
State MACC director Ahmad Nizam Ismail confirmed that the investigation is being conducted under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
OnLast Friday, Kota Setar police chief Assistant Commissioner Siti Nor Salawati Saad confirmed that police were looking into the allegations.
She said the inquiry aimed to verify documents linked to the alleged dispute, which dated back to 2013, between Abu Ismail and his former business partner.
Salawati added that 75 reports have been filed by both parties, with the matter also brought before the court.
However, she dismissed claims that gang activity was involved in the case.
