Student remanded for allegedly blackmailing juniors with explicit videos [WATCH]

BATU PAHAT: Police obtained a three-day remand order on a 17-year-old secondary school student in Sri Gading for allegedly blackmailing his juniors with explicit videos.

Magistrate Nurasidah A. Rahman issued the remand order to facilitate investigations under Section 15(b) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

The teen was alleged to have ordered six of his juniors, all aged 13, to perform lewd acts in one of the school's restrooms, and to record them.

He then instructed them to send him the recordings. He also told them to repeat the acts on several other occasions.

When the victims refused, the teen allegedly resorted to threats, extorting money from them, and threatening to make the recordings public.

One of the six victims allegedly gave the suspect RM350.

The victims claimed the school management was told of the incidents, but allegedly took no action.

Following the alleged lack of action from the school authorities, the victims told their parents, which led to four of them lodging reports at the Sri Gading police station yesterday.

Police recovered messages from the suspect's mobile phone, telling the victims to engage in the acts.

The two victims who have yet to lodge reports are expected to do so soon.
