KUALA LUMPUR: Investigation papers on claims made by Ummu Atiyyah, the eldest daughter of former Al-Arqam leader Ashaari Muhammad, about being locked up will be ready soon.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said investigations are ongoing, and police are awaiting feedback from several parties involved in the case.
"We are also tracking down two men believed to be involved in the alleged incident. We hope to wrap up the investigations within the week so that police can send it to Attorney-General's Chambers for further instructions," he said when contacted today.
On Oct 29, one of four men accused of imprisoning Ummu Atiyyah was arrested under the Security Offenses (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).
The suspect was detained during the early stages of Ops Global, a police investigation into suspicious activities linked to Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holdings (GISB).
Police have reportedly identified all individuals believed to be responsible for locking up Ummu Atiyyah.
Earlier, on Oct 18, the 41-year-old woman claimed she was a victim of violence and rape by a GISB leader, and that she had been forced into marriage at the age of 32.
She further alleged that the leader had kept her confined in a house in Batu Hampar, Perak.
Two days later, Ummu Atiyyah led police to the location where she was allegedly held captive and tortured.
