Two arrested over fatal stabbing of foreigner

JOHOR BARU: Police arrested two men over the fatal stabbing of a foreigner, whose body was found with three stab wounds on the stairs leading to a pedestrian bridge in Taman Sri Tebrau, last month.

Johor Baru (South) police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said police arrested the men aged 44 and 62 on Sunday in Taman Maju Jaya, here.

Both were tested positive for methamphetamine and had past criminal records.

They have been remanded for seven days to facilitate the murder investigations.

Police also seized clothing and other related items related to the case, Raud said in a statement, today.

On 19, police were alerted that an unconscious man who was bleeding heavily was lying motionless on the pedestrian bridge staircase.

The 35-year-old foreigner was found dead with three stab wounds to his chest.

Raub said the motive behind the murder is yet to be established and urged those who could shed light onto their investigations to contact their district headquarters at its hotline at 07-2182323.
