Foreigner found dead with 16 stab wounds; manhunt underway

JOHOR BARU: A 50-year-old foreigner was found dead with multiple stab wounds inside a shop lot at Taman Abad yesterday evening.

A manhunt has been launched for the perpetrators of this brutal murder, with police urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.

Johor Baru (South) deputy police chief Superintendent Lim Jit Huey said authorities were alerted to the gruesome discovery by a member of the public at 7.25pm.

The New Straits Times learnt that the body was located on the second floor of the three-storey shop lot, where an eye clinic operates on the ground floor.

Police have cordoned off the entrance to the upper units, and they have withheld further details, including the identity of the deceased.
