RANTAU PANJANG: Two men were arrested for possessing various types of ornamental plants valued at about RM79,000 here on Tuesday.
In a separate incident, an Orang Asli man was arrested in Gua Musang for possession of a shotgun and live ammunition.
GOF Southeast Brigade commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abd Hamid said that a lorry used to smuggle the plants was also seized during the 4pm operation.
He said the General Operations Force (GOF) personnel stopped the lorry when it passed a roadblock at Chabang Empat Salam here.
"After checking the lorry, they discovered ornamental plants that had been smuggled from Thailand.
The two men, agead 40 and 62, were later arrested," he added.
In another development, he said an Orang Asli man was arrested for possession of a shotgun and 10 live bullets, valued at more than RM10,000, in Gua Musang on Tuesday.
He added that the suspect was arrested by GOF personnel in Kampung Pos Brooke.
He said the GOF personnel raided a house in the village at about 5.30pm and discovered the items.
"They then arrested the 46-year-old suspect," he added.
