Man arrested for vandalising car in Sri Petaling

KUALA LUMPUR: A 68-year-old man's car was vandalised in broad daylight in Jalan Sri Petaling, on Friday.

Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said the victim had parked his Honda City car along the road at 2pm before heading to work.

"When he returned at 5pm, he discovered all the windows had been shattered," he said,

Based on an eyewitness statement, Ku Mashariman said a man had thrown stones at the car windows before fleeing the scene.

He said acting on the witness information, police identified and tracked down a suspect.

"The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief that cause damages."

He said the suspect has been remanded for four days, from Nov 30 to Dec 3, to assist in police investigations.

He added that anyone with information on the case should come forward and assist in the investigation.
