ISKANDAR PUTERI: Instead of delivering a parcel, a 38-year-old woman allegedly helped herself to items she fancied, stealing RM37 worth of skincare products from the consignment.
The case involving the delivery worker came to light after a report was lodged by a 42-year-old man, the recipient of the package, on Dec 11.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said the woman was arrested on the same night the police report was lodged, at an apartment here.
He added that police also found two bottles of cleansing water, a box of avocado plant extract wet wipes, and two bottles of lotion when the suspect was arrested.
It is believed that the woman completed the delivery, provided proof of receipt to the recipient, who was not present at the time, and then left the area with the parcel.
"The suspect has been remanded for five days to facilitate investigation into the case.
"She also tested negative for drugs and has no prior criminal record," he said.
