KUALA LUMPUR: Five suspects, aged between 22 and 30, have been arrested in connection with a fight that broke out in front of a building on Jalan Yap Kwan Seng.
Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said police received a call from a member of the public regarding the fight that occurred in front of a building on Yap Kwan Seng Road here on Dec 15, at 4:03am.
"The incident arose from a misunderstanding among four to five men, leading to one of the men striking the victim with a knife.
"The first victim sustained cuts to his left arm, while the second victim suffered lacerations to the left side of his face, extending from his eyebrow to his lip.
"The third victim suffered a wound to the right side of his head and required ten stitches," he said in a statement today.
He added that all three victims received medical treatment at a private hospital.
Following the incident, police arrested the five locals to assist with the investigation.
"The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code.
"A remand application for the suspects will be submitted today under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code," said Sulizmie.
The authorities are still conducting the investigation.
