KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested three people, including a woman, to facilitate their investigation into the disappearance of six-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui.
Johor police chief Commissioner M. Kumar said the three, aged between 28 and 55, were arrested in Iskandar Puteri, Gelang Patah, Johor to assist in the investigation.
Kumar, in a statement, said police have also reclassified the case under Section 365 of the Penal Code for kidnapping or abduction with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person.
"The public is advised not to speculate in ways that could disrupt the investigation," he said.
It was reported on Sunday that the girl was last seen at Eko Galleria 3, Jalan Eko Botani 3/2, Taman Botani in Iskandar Puteri.
She was last spotted wearing a T-shirt with a picture of the Mickey Mouse cartoon character and shorts before her disappearance.
