KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Malaya (UM) confirmed receiving a report regarding a case of an academician who allegedly shared his nude photographs with several students.
"UM has confirmed receiving a report regarding the case raised by the UM Feminism Club, which was also reported by several local media agencies.
"At present, UM is unable to provide further comments as the matter has been referred to the relevant authorities for investigation.
"UM will continue to monitor the progress of this case and is prepared to extend full cooperation to the relevant parties to ensure the issue is addressed appropriately," it said.
Yesterday, it was reported that the UM Feminism Club urged UM management to tighten its sexual harassment policies after a professor allegedly shared his nude photos with a student.
UMFC alleged that the photos were also printed and displayed around the campus as a warning to other students but were taken down shortly after.
The club further claimed that several other professors attempted to protect the accused professor.
