Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rozak Muhammad said today the main suspect, 46, was nabbed when he arrived at the Penang International Airport here.

He said 22 people were detained in connection with the attack.

"Three men, aged 36 to 41, who were believed to have carried out the attack, have been charged.

"The main suspect, who was believed to have planed the attack, was detained at the airport about 10.50pm last night.

"He faced a charge under Section 324 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 109 of the same code at the magistrate's court here today, to which he claimed trial.
