KUALA LUMPUR: The government will allocate RM24 million to enhance programmes to address mental health issues, violence and abuse prevention; and substance abuse.
Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said the Health Ministry's Psychosocial helpline had received over 35,000 phone calls from distraught people between March and October.
Among the callers were those suffering from depression, anxiety and stress, he said when tabling the 2021 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat today.
