4 main glove manufacturers pledge RM400 million in battle against Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: The country's four main glove manufacturers have expressed their commitment to contribute RM400 million to fight Covid-19, including covering part of the vaccine and health equipment costs.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said the four companies are Top Glove, Hartalega, Supermax and Kossan.

"The government highly appreciates the commitment of the private sector, non-governmental organisations and individuals who have contributed to this effort," he said while tabling the 2021 Budget here, today.

He added that the government will allocate RM100 million from the Sukuk Prihatin subscription to conduct research on communicable diseases covering vaccine development, as well as treatment and diagnostics research.
