KUALA LUMPUR: A hotel employee who punched his wife on the head for suspecting her of having an affair was sentenced to three months’ jail by the magistrate's court here, yesterday.
Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid handed down the sentence on Alias Ambo, 38, after he pleaded guilty to a charge of voluntarily causing hurt on Andi Hartina Andi Anwar, 39, a housewife.
The offence was committed at the DBKL flats at Jalan Loke Yew, at 5pm on April 9.
Alias was ordered to serve the jail sentence from the date of his arrest, which was April 9.
In mitigation, Alias, who was unrepresented, said he has three children – two of whom have health problems requiring medical treatment – to take care of.
