KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Musa Aman today launched Jalinan Rakyat (JR) and Jalinan Rakyat Plus in the state in preparation for the upcoming election.
"We used to rely on Umno Wanita to reach out to the people through JR.
"It is time to include Puteri and Pemuda as well as other component parties to be part of the machinery," he said, adding that JR Plus was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur last month.
Earlier, Sabah Umno Wanita chief Datuk Armani Mahiruddin said the party had initiated insurance coverage for JR and JR Plus members.
Also present were Sabah Umno and component parties leaders.
About 1,000 members attended the launch ceremony.
To date, there are 36,000 members under the JR and JR Plus in Sabah.
