Sultan of Selangor launches Sungai Buloh Hospital mosque

SUNGAI BULOH: Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today launched the Sungai Buloh Hospital mosque.

The mosque, built at the cost of RM3 million, is the only place of worship in the country that comes under the Health Ministry.

Spanning 2,137 meter psf, the construction of the mosque was completed in Feb 2012.

It can hold a congregation of 1,800 at one time.

Accompanying Sultan Sharafuddin was Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya, Sungai Buloh Hospital director and mosque nazir Datuk Dr Khalid Ibrahim, and Selangor Islamic Religious Department director Datuk Haris Kasim.

Sultan Sharafuddin also presented Hari Raya contributions of RM500 each to 436 people, made up of the poor and mualaf (converts).

Sultan Sharafuddin then broke fast at the mosque before performing the maghrib, isyak and terawih prayers with the congregation.
