Sultan of Selangor to undergo cataract surgery

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah is currently being warded at a hospital to undergo cataract surgery on his right eye.

A statement posted on the Royal Selangor Office Facebook said the ruler was undergoing a checks so that he could proceed with the procedure, which was initially slated for late last year.

"His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj is currently at the hospital after being advised by the doctor to undergo a full medical check up and cataract surgery on his right eye, which had been delayed for eight months.

"His Royal Highness had previously undergone the same surgery for the left eye," it said, adding that Sultan Sharafuddin is expected to undergo a recovery period of 10 days.
