MyRapid card migration exercise extended to July 31; but reload function disabled tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: The MyRapid card migration exercise, which was scheduled to end tomorrow (July 15), has been extended until July 31, Prasarana Malaysia Bhd said today.

As of yesterday, more than 190,000 MyRapid cards have migrated to MyRapid Touch ‘n Go cards, which allow for seamless travel on all Rapid KL public transport networks, including stage buses, the BRT, the LRT, the monorail and the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) line.

Of the total, close to 50,000 were migrations to MyRapid concession cards, which accord 50 per cent discounts on tickets purchased by senior citizens, students and the disabled.

In a statement today, Prasarana said it extended the deadline to give commuters more time to make the card migration.

They include cardholders who may have been away from the Klang Valley during the one-month migration period.

However, Prasarana said those who have not made the card migration will face travel interruption on the SBK MRT when the line begins full operations on July 17.

“MyRapid cardholders who have yet to renew their cards, and enter the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang system via the LRT system using MyRapid cards will need to purchase tokens at the MRT Customer Services Offices when exiting,” it said.

Prasarana said the four Concession Card Migration Centres at the Pasar Seni bus hub, and the Sri Rampai, Awan Besar and Subang Jaya LRT stations will continue to operate daily, from 7am to 7pm, until July 31.

Senior citizens, students and the disabled who wish to apply for the new MyRapid Touch ‘n Go cards or renew their concession cards will still need to submit their applications at the concession counter at the Pasar Seni Bus Hub.

Cardholders are advised to stay updated via https://www.myrapid.com.my/fares-and-payments/all-tickets/concession-cards.

Prasarana also highlighted that the reload function for MyRapid cards at all ticket vending machines and customer service offices at all LRT, BRT and monorail stations will be disabled from tomorrow, July 15.

MyRapid Touch ‘n Go cardholders may reload at self-service kiosks at select MRT and LRT stations, business outlets that offer reload facilities, as well as at customer service offices at MRT, BRT, LRT and monorail stations.
