KUCHING: Some 17,000 units of the 1Malaysia People’s’ Housing (PR1MA) Plan homes with a gross development value (GDV) of RM5.5 billion will be built in Sarawak.
Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia said the affordable quality houses will be built via 15 projects planned at several locations around the state.
Two of the projects involving 1,320 units and 912 units in Bintawa and Matang, respectively are up for sale, while 900 units in Semenggoh will be open to potential home buyers beginning next month.
“More than 1.4 million including 68,000 people from Sarawak have registered with PR1MA.
“A total of 166,972 of these registrants nationwide have applied for PR1MA housing units,” said PR1MA in a statement today.
PR1MA is organising its open day dubbed as PR1MA Open Day (POD) at its sales office in Matang here.
The two-day long open day includes participation from Bank Negara Malaysia, Employees Provident Fund, the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) and local banks.
“POD serves as a one-stop centre for potential buyers to get more information and book their dream house under PR1MA.
“Potential buyers can check their financial background and loan eligibility during the open day,” said a PR1MA official.
PR1MA also urged young professionals to take up its Flexible Financing Scheme or SPEF, which will increase potential homebuyers’ chances of obtaining a housing loan.
SPEF, said PR1MA, includes collaboration with EPF where borrowers are only required to service their loan interest for the first five years before paying the principal from the sixth year onwards.
