KOTA BARU: Muslims from all walks of life should show their solidarity by fighting against the aggressive and unacceptable actions of their enemies, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today.
He said they should be united on big issues and forget their trivial differences.
"Although we come from different backgrounds (our religion unites us).
"The federal government (and some state governments) have different political beliefs, but we manage to put them aside on issues involving the people and the ummah, including on the Rohingya issue," he said in a brief speech at a Hari Raya gathering at the Dataran Rehal here today.
Zahid said if this could be continued, there would be harmony, which is what is hoped for by the people
More than 5,000 people joined Zahid, Kelantan Umno leaders including state chairman Datuk Mustapa Mohamed and Umno information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa at the event.
There was plenty of food on hand, including traditional delicacies like nasi dagang, nasi kerabu, lemang, rendang and satay.
