KUALA LUMPUR: The authorities managing the Taman Sungai Hijau Flat in Fraser Hill, Pahang have been urged to clean up the areas surrounding the neighbourhood there.
Despite being located nearby the state’s famous highland resort destination, the low-cost flat’s surrounding areas were found scattered with rubbish, especially near the dumpsters.
Besides becoming an eyesore, the rubbish dump poses a serious health risk to the residents as it may turn into a breeding ground for Aedes mosquitoes and rats.
This is despite 2017 being Visit Pahang Year, which is aimed to boost the tourism sector in the state.
