Cargo train derails, KTM Komuter and ETS services disrupted

KUALA LUMPUR: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) train services involving the Port Klang and Batu Caves routes were disrupted following a derailment of 10 carriages near Jalan Kuching early this morning.

According to the KTMB Customer Service Response unit, the carriages, which were transporting cement from Simpang Batu, derailed in Kepong at about 1am today.

“Following the incident, the KTM Komuter services involving the Port Klang and Batu Caves routes are expected to experience delays of about 30 minutes from the original schedule.

“Electric Train Service (ETS) involving routes to Ipoh and Padang Besar are also expected to experience delays from the original schedule.

“Any relevant updates will be communicated from time to time,” the spokesman told the New Straits Times today.
