Raja Muda of Selangor takes a ride on KTM Komuter

SHAH ALAM: Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah chose to experience for himself the KTM Komuter train service today, as part of the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor exploration programme.

Tengku Amir Shah boarded the train at the Shah Alam station at 9.05am and made the most of the train ride by engaging with fellow commuters during the 20-minute ride to the Klang KTM station.

He was accompanied by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Rani Hisham Samsudin and Railway Asset Corporation (RAC) CEO Datuk Azhar Ahmad.

He was also given a tour of the train driver's cockpit and had a chance to observe the train's operations and the railway track throughout the journey to Klang.

Apart from that, he was briefed on the latest developments in the Klang Valley Double Tracking (KVDT2) infrastructure upgrade project.

The KVDT2 project aims to enhance rail efficiency in the Klang Valley sector.

Upon completion, the frequency of passenger and freight train services will be increased, and potential flooding incidents at stations will be mitigated.

The three-day Jelajah Gagasan Rumpun Selangor programme is aimed at exploring the unique cultural diversity and heritage of Selangor's communities.

The programme is also to strengthen unity and goodwill among the various ethnic groups through a range of activities planned throughout the tour.
