“On behalf of the state government, I would like to congratulate the Malaysian contingent for their gold medal achievements beyond everyone’s expectation,” he said, adding that the state government is equally as proud of all athletes who won the silver and bronze medals as well.

Mohd Amar, who was speaking to reporters after the state exco meeting here today, hoped that the Malaysian athletes will be just as triumphant in the next Sea Games too.

He added that the state government will continue to encourage Kelantan athletes who will be taking part in future Sea Games.

As at 3pm today, Malaysia ended the Games with 145 gold medals, 92 silver medals and 86 bronze medals.
