KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V will attend a royal banquet at Istana Nurul Iman in Bandar Seri Begawan on Friday to mark the golden jubilee celebration of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s accession to the throne.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said that the Malaysian monarch will be joined by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who are attending the event at the invitation of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The Ministry said that Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam enjoy close, special and brotherly relations underpinned by common and deep-rooted values and cultures that bind the two countries together.
"The participation of high-level dignitaries from Malaysia at this momentous event will certainly elevate the bilateral relations of both countries to greater heights," it added.—BERNAMA
