KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid KL will be extending its Light Rail Transit (LRT) service at the Gombak station and provide shuttle bus between the station and Batu Caves in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration.
Operation hour at the station would also be extended until 2am on Wednesday. However, the Kelana Jaya Line will be close as per normal.
"Commuters can enter Gombak LRT station at any time until 2am and exit at any LRT or Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) stations.
"Train will depart the station every 30 minutes, after the normal operation hour ends.
"Train services for the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line and MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line will also be extended to accommodate late travellers.
"The trains will wait for the last service train from Gombak at integration stations of Masjid Jamek and Pasar Seni. Services will be at an interval of every 30 minutes," Rapid KL said in a statement.
The bus fare is RM2 per trip.
KL Monorail service and Rapid Transit Bus (BRT)-Sunway Line operations however would not be extended.
Users have been advised to use MyRapid Touch 'n Go (TnG) card or any TnG cards for traveling convenience.
Rapid KL also encouraged commuters to park at the Park n Ride facilities along the LRT and MRT alignments.
Rapid KL would also provide a shuttle service between the Pasar Seni bus hub and Batu Caves beginning tomorrow.
"The bus frequency is between 10 to 15 minutes. The service commences from 4.30pm and ends at 11pm on Wednesday.
"Fare is also RM2 per trip," the statement said.
Rapid KL also reminded commuters to take note of changes in its usual bus services around Batu Caves and Gombak due to road closure.
The affected routes are:
Route 173 : Hub Taman Jasa Utama - Lebuh Ampang
Route 171 : Hub Wira Damai - Lebuh Ampang.
Route T204 : Hub Greenwood - Kg. Nahkoda.
Route MPS 01 : Hub Selayang Mutiara - Gombak LRT Station
