JOHOR BARU: Former Tanjung Puteri assemblyman Datuk Mohamad Kasbi has passed away at the age of 72.
He breathed his last at his home in Kampung Baru Nong Chik here early this morning.
Her brother-in-law, Datuk Abd Rashim Kasman, said Mohamad passed away peacefully at about 2.30am.
“His remains will be buried before Zohor today at the Bukit Aliff Muslim cemetery here,” he said when contacted.
It is understood that Mohamad died of leukemia.
He leaves behind his wife, Datin Rohaidah Buntat, two sons, four daughters and 12 grandchildren.
Mohamad had served as Tanjung Puteri assemblyman from 1990 to 2004.
He began his political career as a Johor Baru Umno Youth committee member in 1976. He also served as Johor Former Elected Representatives Council secretary from 2014 to 2017.
