KUALA LUMPUR: The remains of a hit-and-run accident victim was discovered by motorists early this morning at Km34.3 Kesas Highway.
Police have identified the victim as Al Baharin Mohdzlan, 31.
Selangor Traffic and Enforcement Investigation Department chief Superintendent Azman Shari’at said the victim is believed to have been on a motorcycle.
“The body of a man was found on the fast lane of Km34.3 of the Kesas Highway (heading towards Klang) at 2.20am. The victim is believed to have succumbed to head injuries.
“He is believed to have been on a motorcycle as police found a red motorcycle helmet beside him, but there was no motorcycle in sight,” he said when contacted today.
Azman said police would scrutinise closed-circuit television footages at the scene and are tracing the whereabouts of the victim’s motorcycle.
He urged witnesses to come forward or contact the investigating officer Inspector Mohamad Hamdan Jeramatin at 019-464 2222.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1)(A) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
