SUBANG JAYA: One of the suspects allegedly involved in an attempted robbery near a petrol station along the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) will be charged in court today.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the suspect who allegedly swung a stick and damaged a vehicle will be charged at the Shah Alam magistrate's court.
"He is to be charged under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage.
"The other suspects will be released and made witnesses to the prosecution," he said when contacted yesterday.
It was reported that police arrested four people believed to be involved in an attempted robbery in front of a petrol station in the Shah Alam Expressway.
A 46-second dashcam recording of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
It shows the complainant's vehicle driving out from a petrol station at night when another car passed it.
Shortly after, a motorcyclist rode out of another petrol station and blocked the complainant's vehicle.
The rider got off the motorcycle and approached the other vehicle, which was parked in front of it, opening the back door of the vehicle and grabbing an object.
He then ran towards the complainant's vehicle as it tried to flee the scene.
Other people were also seen getting out of the parked car.
