Grab driver robbed by two passengers

KUALA LUMPUR: A Grab driver was robbed by his passengers in front of a flat in Jinjang Baru on Sunday.

The 27-year old had picked up two passengers from a convenience shop in Sri Kuching before the 3.30am robbery occurred.

It is learnt that two men had called for the e-hailing service from Sri Kuching to a flat in Jinjang Baru.

One of the passengers had grabbed the driver’s neck and another one snatched RM100 and his mobile phone when the car stopped at their destination.

The duo fled the scene after robbing the driver, who later lodged a report at the Jinjang police station.

Sentul district police chief Assistant Commissioner R. Munusamy said police were tracking the suspects.

The case is being investigated under Section 392/ 397 of the Penal Code for robbery.
