GLC chiefs show off musical talent in 'Hebat Negaraku' music video

KUALA LUMPUR: In a touching display of patriotism, the heads of more than a dozen government-linked companies (GLC) expressed their love for the country in a music video entitled "Hebat Negaraku", or "My Country is Great".

The four-and-a-half-minute video, which was uploaded to YouTube on Thursday, shows the GLC chiefs, several of them equipped with musical instruments, singing on a stage in unison.

Axiata Group chief corporate officer Mohamad Idham Nawawi, Sime Darby Property Berhad managing director Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin and UEM Sunrise chairman Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa were seen sporting guitars for the performance.

RHB Banking Group Managing Director and CEO Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli played the drums.

Among the vocalists were CIMB Group Holdings Berhad CEO Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad CEO Khairul Kamarudin, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad managing director Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad managing director Datuk Mohd Badlisham and UEM Group Berhad CEO Datuk Izzaddin Idris.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad CEO Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly, Lembaga Tabung Haji managing director Datuk Seri Johan Abdullah, Affin Bank Berhad CEO Kamarul Ariffin Mohd Jamil, Pharmaniaga Berhad managing director Datuk Farshila Emran and Malaysia Airlines Berhad CEO Captain Izham Ismail also sang.

They were accompanied by dozens of staff members from the various GLCs who served as backup vocalists.

The music video also showed several photos of the GLC heads participating in various corporate social responsibility programmes to give back to the community.

The heartwarming video ended with the words: "Continuing the nation's greatness through GLCs."
