KOTA KINABALU: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) is the second varsity to have its logo displayed on the body of a MASwings aircraft.
Its vice-chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr D. Kamarudin D. Mudin, said it was another historic milestone in terms of collaboration between the university and industry.
“After Universiti Putra Malaysia, the aircraft will have the image, motive and corporate color of UMS’s official logo and motto ‘Strive to Excel’.”
“This is one of the ways of rebranding UMS at the global level and the effort is underway and expected to be implemented this year,” he said at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UMS and MASwings Sdn Bhd.
D. Kamarudin represented UMS while MASwings was represented by its chief executive officer Aminuddin Zakaria.
The MoU also covers collaboration in formulating and implementing synergies in areas such as training, research, education, tourism, marketability of graduates and airline services.
